The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks. The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas. There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

In 2017 Holly and Ali moved down to Plymouth for a new life away from London. Passion for all things pizza and years of hospitality life brought about Knead pizza.Starting in Plymouth market and honing our skills to try and work out our perfect pizza. We moved into The LHA garden in 2019 due to that thing we wont mention and started cooking with flame. We got ever closer to cracking and adapting the truest of neopolitan style dough into a perfectly soft, neo neapolitan light and flavoursome crust. Now after a stroke of luck we’ve moved to the amazing Prysten House 1498. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth built by Thomas Yogge, with a real Tuscan villa vibe and courtyard, Grade 1 listed and also the inspiration for Yogge our new pizza pal.

Great food, slightly high prices considering we had to buy sides for a main meal to actually make it a dish. We did however, find it very cold in the pub, especially having to have the door open to help ventilate whilst the fireplace was on.

We really liked the 6 course dinner menu, it was refreshing to have the pressure to choose something taken away and have whatever they’ve provided. I’m not sure how regularly this changes and wished I have had asked just so I don’t book the same sort of menu again too quickly, that’s how keen we are to come back. In summary, all of it was great, some things were out of our comfort zone but that’s the beauty of it, trying things you wouldn’t necessarily choose normally. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly, no pressure to keep buying drinks, and we all thought it was very good value for money. Will definitely be a regular visitor.

Tried The Longstore after it was recommended by a colleague. First impression was great, a large woodburner keeping it warm, comfortable chairs and a very nice staff. Although the music was to our taste, it was a tiny bit too loud but they happily turned it down a notch on request. The food was outstanding. We had scallops to start, then Rib Eye steak. I asked to have an extra salad rather than the bits that came with the steak and I must say it was the most delicious salad I have ever had and a massive portion too! I hardly ever tip, but today they got a well deserved 10%. Definitely going back!

We were well looked after, despite the late arrival of most of our party! We were not hurried or made to feel as though it was a problem. The meal was reasonably priced and all of our party enjoyed the food and the dining experience.
