“In Syrian culture, we can’t make any journey without first planning the food. If you decide to go to the cinema, you plan what you’ll eat. If you plan to visit your mother, you know that you’re going to eat. There’s no going out without eating something.”-Imad AlarnabImad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Tuna tartare very good, swordfish main good but the chips were forgotten and had to be asked for. Seafood risotto quite good, needed a bit of garlic or onions at least (IMHO), I had to ask for fingerbowl which I shouldn’t have had to. No problem with quantity and variety of fish.

One of the best dining experiences. The dishes are delicious, excellent tastes and very well presented. The staff are kind, attentative, very professional and pay attention to details. Last but not least is the building and the decoration, a fantastic hall transformed into a very cosy, intimate and high-end ambience.

Food was very good as always, we had the ‘As good as it gets’ set menu. Service was dreadful though, my wife ordered a glass of Rose and after waiting 5 minutes we called the same waitress over to ask where her drink was only to be told they had run out of Rose. She then ordered a glass of white wine, and after waiting a while again, still didn’t receive it, so she decided to go to the bar to ask for it but was told it would be brought over. Still nothing, so she had to go to the bar again and ask where it was and again was told it would be brought over. Finally it was served to her at the fourth time of asking! When the bill came we were charged for 2 glasses of wine, so I had to ask for one to be taken off!
