A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers.     The food was excellent especially for a valentine’s menu. And our server Monica was awesome. She was friendly and attentive and kept checking on us even though it was busy. That’s how all waitress’s should be. The desert was really good too

    My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner on Valentine's Day. We were seated at our favorite booth in the main dining room. My wife selected Prime Rib, and I had the halibut substituting mashed potatoes for the rice. We began eating at this restaurant when it opened and have enjoyed many wonderful dinners by ourselves with guests. We even hosted a large wedding reception for one of our daughters. The staff keeps this restaurant organized and running perfectly. The wait staff is always helpful and willing to do what is needed to make it a memorable dining event. These days there are painfully few restaurants that are able to consistently deliver a superb dining experience. Fortunately, the Summit House is one that can and does.

    We visited Bruno's restaurant on 2/14/25, prior to attending a show at the Civic Center. Our reservation was made weeks in advance and Bruno's and a show was our Valentine's Day plan for the evening. There was a line out the door upon our arrival. We were greeted by Stephanie at the hostess station, were served drinks at the bar by Aaron and served dinner by varying staff, and attended to by Sophia. Sophia provided us with top notch service from start to finish. Ron and I dined on Fritto Misto, Lobster Ravioli, Short ribs with homemade pasta, Tiramisu and bread with balsamic vinegar, peppers and olive oil. That was the best bread we have had and all of the food and wine we consumed was absolutely delicious. Thank you for making our evening at Bruno's a wonderful one. Dawne and Ron

    We had one of the best experiences at the seller we were hoping for something really fun and they came out 100% the customer service with Shannon was amazing she is by far one of the best waitress we’ve ever had. The food was beyond delicious and my dad has a hard time walking up the stairs so they took their time put us through the kitchen and had the elevator take him up everyone was so accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be back.
