The menu choices are always unique and changing (a staple of this restaurant) yet somehow they never miss. This visit was a Sunday night with a late reservation. Despite being last to arrive, everything was prime time perfect and enjoyable. We had trout and scallops which were both excellent choices. This is and remains our favorite shoreline restaurant, and for good reason.More infoCafé RoutierPrice: Moderate• American• Westbrook•4.8

It was really quite special such a beautiful historic location to have a holiday meal with the people you love and a little bit of Christmas spirit! The short ribs, as always, were on point and delicious and I don't know you did something extra good to the mashed potatoes last night too! We also loved the oysters and the baked cod was so fresh and yummy.More infoThe Griswold InnPrice: Expensive• American• Essex•4.5

Each course is nicely presented by the chefs and well paced by their experienced waiters. We enjoyed the oyster sampler and Cesar salad followed by the Moroccan Cod and Seared Tuna with Wasabi Mashed potatoes. A great destination especially in the off season to enjoy locally sourced cuisine that is curated to perfection. A superb meal and great local dining experience !More infoLiv's Oyster BarPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Old Saybrook•4.8
- PPamVIPNew York City •8 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 24, 2024Love the change to a price fixe or chefs tasting menu. We went for Christmas Eve and loved the experience. We had a great server, love the ambiance and the food was delicious and innovative. The price fixe is three courses, but they give you more to try. It was more than a dinner out, it was an experience. I highly recommend.More infoThe EssexPrice: Expensive• American• Old Saybrook•4.8
