Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants in West Haven

Came here for my husbands birthday and was so impressed. We don’t get out often, but im so happy we came. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, staff was warm and welcoming, food was wonderful! They even had a pianist playing music and singing which was a really nice touch. He played everything from Billy Joel to Elton John to Frank Sinatra. He even started off with “fly me to the moon” which ironically was our wedding song. It was tasteful and classy, not disruptive. The wait staff was attentive and our glasses never got near empty. The atmosphere was so relaxing. We were able to have a conversation. We started with the eggplant tower which was amazing, and they even brought us a complementary bruschetta app while we waited. I had the jumbo shrimp and scallop dinner, which was wonderful. My husband has the surf and turf, which he thought was tasty and well done. I also think for the ambiance and the food quality as well as the service, the price was also fair. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, and I look forward to coming back whenever we have the chance to get a night out again!

To say this is an amazing restaurant, is an understatement. For over 40 years, my family has been coming here and this evening we celebrated another birthday. We frequent here but have always made sure to celebrate my wife's birthday with her favorite meal. Tonight was an amazing experience as the entire restaurant sang happy birthday. We look forward to many more years celebrating.

Very creative presentations of terrific food. Was there recently for the third time to celebrate an anniversary and it was a third time home run. Top shelf all the way from creative cocktails to the do not miss desserts.

It’s beautiful in there, it was my second time dining at olives & oil. This time we went on a friday after Christmas, the decoration, staff, food was amazing. Whether you’re there for a couple of drinks at the bar or seating in there dining section you’ll have a wonderful experience. They pay good attention to allergies and have gluten free options.

We had a table for five plus a baby for lunch. Interesting and flavorful menu. Pulled duck tostados were excellent. One friend said the chicken sandwich was the best meal she had over the Christmas/Hanukah holiday. Kitchen made an easy substitution for a food allergy. Only slight gripe was that it was chilly sitting at the front table in the window. Will definitely be back!
