Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Waterbury

We absolutely loved your afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious! My favorite was the beet and goat cheese. I am not a truffle lover, but I did enjoy the egg salad sandwich with a hint of truffles. It was not overdone, it was just right. I loved the scones, especially with the fig jam and clotted cream. I prefer savory over sweets at an afternoon tea. I find many places do far too many sweets. You had just enough to complement the sandwiches. If I may, I would like to suggest the addition of Darjeeling to your teas. They do call it the King of Teas, after all. It is very different from English Breakfast and Earl Grey, both of which are blended teas. I feel Darjeeling would really complement your lovely afternoon tea. Our overall experience at Millwright’s was fabulous! Delicious food, spectacular ambiance, and impeccable service. Tucked away in a cozy booth we were able to enjoy a lovely New England wintery scene with the beautiful brook below. The Christmas prix fixe was delight after delight and the cherry on top of our evening was the attention and care brought by our server Ron. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and brought great banter to the table. I know he really made the evening for our whole party.

What a lovely place! I went for breakfast this time (dinner last time). It was just perfect. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast which was both delicious and beautiful. An off-menu order of a couple of egg whites was easily accepted. Strangely, the egg whites were absolutely delicious! I stay "strangely" because how can egg whites be great? But they were! Do yourself a favor and go to Apropos for any meal or just a drink or dessert. You will be glad that you did!

Dining here is always a delight. The specials were a treat and the regular menu scrumptious. Not one for flowery tasting teas, I adored the "Paris" blend. Also: congratulations to the staff who are graduating and may the rest enjoy their winter break.
