Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. I haven’t been to Café Berlin in a few years and am happy I finally got to go back. Food was delicious, nice drink selection, warm, comfortable, cozy atmosphere especially on a frigid evening, and good deserts.

These folks were great and can cook a duck. The meal started with a little parsnip taste from the kitchen with a black truffle and some sort of cream. We followed that with duck wings that were awesome and then had some of the Brussels that came on the foie Gras…awesome. The thing that really stood out though was the fry in the duck breast. They somehow got the fat rendered and kept the meat moist with getting a hard fry on the breading. Yum. The cigarettes and chocolate dessert was also great. Don’t normally leave reviews but this place has some tasty bites right now.
