Love and Salt is a story that begins with Cafe Pierre, a restaurant birthed by Guy Gabriele in 1977 to bring a taste of France to Los Angeles’ South Bay. While Cafe Pierre was a beloved part of the community for nearly 37 years, in 2014, Guy and his daughter Sylvie Gabriele, now the owner of Love and Salt, closed the restaurant to bring new life to the iconic space.Love and Salt is a philosophy: that food needs only two ingredients to be great.     We had booked a reservation for Christmas Eve a month in advance, but when we arrived we were not seated for 30 minutes past our reservation time. Nevertheless, once we were seated the service was prompt and friendly, and all of the food was delicious. The various vegetable sides were terrific, including the broccolini, the kombucha squash, and the carrots.

    Expensive but a great spot out on the patio for any special night. Dishes are cooked on open wood burning grills and overall the food is delicious. Right atop the Century City Mall. Very romantic, beautiful view and great staff!

    Tar & Roses provides an exceptional dining experience. The beet and yogurt dip, along with the octopus skewers were divine. The fried red snapper is a MUST. Also, the service is top notch. When we wanted to switch tables, the staff immediately accommodated us. Then, to receive an email and text from management thanking us for dining in the restaurant was a nice touch. This restaurant does everything right!
