We are excited to welcome you to First & Oak! We offer outdoor seating on our heated patio & inside our intimate dining rooms. Seating is limited, a credit card is required & will only be charged for cancellations. Please allow us a minimum of 24 hours prior to avoid any cancelation fees.

We offer two dining experiences: Traditional Three Course or a Chef's Five Course Tasting Menu.
Parties of 6 or more please call. When reserving standard (indoor) or outdoor seating (Please be mindful regarding the weather, it tends to get chilly as the night goes on), please choose which experience you would prefer & let us know of any dietary restrictions, Vegan request needs a days advance notice.

First and Oak is located inside the Mirabelle Inn, & was awarded a Michelin Plate designation in 2022. We offer a seasonally-inspired menu that highlights local & organic ingredients prepared in a thoughtful manner. Our dining room operates with the mindset of warm compassionate attentive service.

    The Chef's Tasting Menu is the signature dining experience at First & Oak - highlighting our most seasonal preparations, featuring produce from the farms in Santa Ynez Valley, seafood from off the California Coast and other local specialties. Chef Ivan Coronel and his team's level of execution and attention to detail is apparent in every dish, offering delicious menu options for each course, allowing guests to engage with the menu each night. Wine pairings are offered along with the Chef's Tasting Menu on a nightly basis. Advance notice on any dietary restrictions or preferences is always appreciated, in order for us to create exceptional menu options for each of our guests.     The 3 Course Menu Experience at First & Oak offers our guests an opportunity to enjoy our cuisine in a slightly more approachable manner - fewer courses than our Chef's Tasting Menu, but more generous portions. Offering choices for each course, this menu captures the level of technique being employed by our kitchen team each and every day, and allows guests to engage with our service team to create a casual but elegant dining experience.     Excellent food and impeccable service. Three and five course fixed price menu with several options. The bread was amazing with the avocado butter. The wait staff was superb. We stayed in the Mirabelle Inn where the restaurant was located. That made for a really nice evening. Don't miss this gem!

    There are plenty of great meals in Solvang, honestly most places are great. None are at the level of this restaurant though. It is a must for any foodies and or celebrations. The highest class of food and the best service.

    The 5 course wine pairing was very good. I wish I had taken a picture of the Wines offered as they were all excellent and full pours. The food offerings were all very good, with the exception of the oysters. The cauliflower was our favorite and the sea bass was perfect. We were a little worried that the oysters were not quite right as they tasted mostly of sea water. We have had lots of oysters over the years and these were honestly just not good. But we didn’t get sick! LOL. We will for sure recommend this place for the dining experience and will return the next time we are in Solvang.

    I was extremely impressed they were able to customize my menu to be vegan without sacrificing the flavor. Absolutely incredible experience and will be returning!

    Based on the reviews I thought this place was going to be great however, it was a major let down. An expensive let down at that. The Halibut and Tenderloin were both flavorless. The oysters were awful. The Ricatta, Tuna Crudo, Scallop and Passionfruit Tart were all really good so not all the food was bad but, I definitely expected more. Very disappointed for a $90 a plate meal and ultimately wish we would have went somewhere else. Service and staff were wonderful, it was just the food that was so hit or miss.

    Wonderful three course meal. We went for our anniversary. The staff was very welcoming and the kitchen was very accommodating of my pregnancy. It's my first pregnancy so I'm a little nervous about certain foods but they made sure everything was perfect. They even had non-alcoholic beer! The chef surprised us with a new off menu dessert, which was delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
