Gale's Restaurant is a totally local Pasadena spot for delicious Northern Italian fare, tucked away from the tourist chains in Old Town. Couples, families and friends that seem to have just finished a day outdoors snuggle among the brick walls and small marble tables, drinking cocktails and wine from elegant Brighton goblets. Start off with Bruschetta, Burrata Salad or Gale's Simple Salad and then move on to the country-style Tuscan steak or one of the house made ravioli specials. For dessert, don't miss the Tiramisu or Gale's iconic Coconut Cake. The wine list is a favorite among the guests for it's variety and excellent value.

I had eaten at Gales before the pandemic and found the food to be excellent. But last nights meal was a real disappointment. I ordered chicken piccata. Two chicken breast came out as thick as T-bone steaks. Chicken piccata is supposed to be pounded flat. The lemon caper sauce had the consistency of gravy. Inexcusable for an Italian restaurant to not know how to properly make chicken piccata. My friend and I ordered a salad. We were halfway through eating it when the runner was standing in front of us with our entrées, looking at us like - move your plates. For a restaurant where the entrées are $35-$50 I found the whole experience mediocre at best. I am unlikely to return.

My 3rd time at Gale’s. Great selection of entrees to choose and enjoy. Esteban has been our server the times that I have been there with friends. He provides great recommendations and customer service. I am excited to take my family for the entrees and service.

Food always good. Portions are small and prices are a bit high. Very noisy in front part of restaurant. Still one of my favorite restaurant but just don't go as often as I want due to cost.

We sat outside in the covered area and it was so pleasant and comfortable. the food was terrific and our server took the children's orders first so they were happy to eat their dinners while we enjoyed an appetizer and our drinks. I love the pizzetta and it didn't let me down! I like to eat a salad before and then half the little pizza so I can take the other half home for another meal. Our son had the eggplant parm which was plated in a wonderful "stacked" way and was as tasty as it looked. The little issue of the bright flood lights turning on next door and shining, blinding, into our faces was taken care of with the drapes on the space so we were happy to return to comfort!
