Geraldine's is named after the famed guinea fowl that once roamed Rainey Street. Respect for Austin's history and culture seeps into every part of the restaurant, from the local ingredients featured in our Chef's contemporary menu to the nightly concert lineup-because there is no Austin without live music. My wife and I arrived for Sunday brunch. We were initially seated at a table that barely cleared our knees so we politely asked to be moved somewhere else. They quickly moved us to a booth that was much more comfortable. Then they proceeded to ignore us. There were tables nearby that arrived after us, but that were promptly taken care of. We were apparently invisible until we decided to leave after 30 minutes of no service. I don't know if they were being passive aggressive or were just understaffed. Either way it was a disappointing time. The one highlight was the jazz band. They were excellent and I wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed them!

Beautiful setting. Food was really good, great… no but really good! Service was a bit slow but liked we didn’t feel rushed.

Food was delicious we just would have liked the portions to be a bit larger! Loved the DJ and our waiter was excellent!

No view. Beware of suggestions that this is the best spot for panoramic views of the city. Any possible glimpse of Lady Bird Lake is blocked by new parking garage. Food was good and so was service. But for some reason they sat our party outside instead of indoors. The beautiful dining area was nearly empty, so I can only guess they were trying to get ready for dinner service and preferred us out by pool. Note that the sun can be brutal on patio and comes at angle umbrellas cannot help. We baked and ended up all on one side of table, not conducive to visiting. If you want jazz brunch, cool. If you want views of the city choose elsewhere. Again, food is fine and inside is nicely decorated. Just be sure they don't seat you out by the pool!

So so so good. We did the jazz brunch, the jazz trio was amazing. The food was stupendous. The atmosphere was beautiful. The service was also top notch. Cannot say enough good things!

Excellent dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, noise level and service. Went with a group so got to sample lots of deliciousness! Waiter made great recommendations and was very attentive.
