   It was our 43rd anniversary and we were greeted wonderfully at the door, escorted to our table and found an anniversary card signed by all the staff. That was really sweet of them. Ambience was great. Tables were far enough apart from each other that you couldn’t hear their conversations, but could strike up a conversation with the table next-door if wanted. We did, and had conversation on and off again but very much fun and lots of laughing. We started off with A Dirty Martini and a Specialty drink that I loved. Our food was fantastic. We had for starters, the calamari, which was the best that I had ever tasted,my husband did like one other place better. We shared a wedge salad, which was plenty to share, then had the Lobster pasta dish and Lobster Mac n cheese, as we had enjoyed steak a night before. We only ate half although it was delicious because we wanted to save room for our dessert of the brownie ice cream hot fudge that we split. We took home our leftovers along with the leftover roll that was excellent, and will be able to enjoy it again tonight. Yes, the prices were higher than normal, but it was a celebration. You can’t eat there all the time unless you’re wealthy, but it was still a great celebration dinner for once or twice a year. I saw on the menu also, the Lunch menu and Specials offered. We will definitely be back.

   Their lunch combos have changed and they bring out the entire meal all at the same time. Which means you’re hot items will be cold if you eat your shrimp cocktail and salad first, unless you requested a soup, or you have to eat your meal backwards to have your hot entree or items while it’s hot, and go back to the chilled items that are now no longer chilled. I was disappointed in this new trend, and probably would have ordered differently had I known this was the way it was going to be presented. We have driven about two hours, a few times a year just to eat at Harry & Izzy’s. The food is great in general and worth the drive, except for this change to the lunch combos, that used to come out in three courses.

   Out server was great. Her personality,and attentiveness was superb! Best waitress that I have ever had in 72 years of dining out.

   First day lunch. Waiter was excellent. Service and food was excellent. It doesn’t get much better than this in Indy.

    We ordered an appetizer of Bacon & it was pretty dry although there was plenty of sauce. Canadian bacon wasn’t good quality in my opinion. I ordered meatloaf & it was very average. Not worth the money charged. My friends had steaks & they were good.
