We come to Hawksmoor every year for our anniversary, and it’s such a special place to us both. The service is always outstanding, the staff are just so attentive and brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is absolutely cooked to perfection and I have never found a place that does it better! Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you haven’t been - you need to!

The restaurant itself is quite atmospheric, but there is an industrial feeling of a conveyor belt culinary experience rather than an intimate individual experience . The service is a fast impatient affair designed to get you in and out quickly masquerading as efficient professionlism. The food is good but overall prices for basic things like chips , bottled water , sauce to accompany steaks etc are unnecessarily exploitative. Basic wine by the glass was tasteless , forcing a bottle option which was adequate but not inexpensive by any means . Overall a chain restaurant thinking it’s something more special ….

I was offered a deal via email through Open Table and when I booked it the website allowed me to book outside of the offers time (I wasn’t aware). The manager said he checked and there’s no way I would have been able to, implying that I’m lying even though I showed proof. Good customer service would be honouring it but they spend 10 minutes arguing why they won’t honour the offer.

Our recent visit to Hawksmoor Seven Dials for my husband’s birthday was deeply disappointing. Birthdays should be memorable, but this experience fell short. Food Quality (3/5) We ordered starters, double gin and tonics, a bottle of South African Pinotage wine, two steaks with peppercorn sauce and fries, and two shared sides. While the fillet steaks were cooked as requested, they lacked flavour. The sides and starters were uninspired. For the price, the quality was underwhelming. Service (2/5) Service was slow, causing us to skip dessert due to a theatre booking, adding to the disappointment. Drinks Selection and Issues The double gin and tonics were flat and had to be returned. The replacements, served with individual tonic bottles, highlighted potential reuse of leftover tonic, leading to flat drinks. Ambience (1/5) The ambience was a major letdown. The restaurant felt more like a crowded pub, with tables packed closely together. There were no tablecloths, no decorative touches, and the overall setting was basic. The crockery, cutlery, and glassware were standard and lacked sophistication. Overall, it was far from a fine dining experience. Value for Money (1/5) The experience did not justify the high cost. Despite ordering a modest meal, the quality of food, service, and ambience fell far short of expectations. Final Thoughts A birthday celebration should be memorable for the right reasons, but Hawksmoor Seven Dials failed in every aspect. The experience was disappointing, and we won’t be returning. Overall Rating: 1/5
