   I had the pasta and my wife the crab/shrimp cakes with an excellent Picpoul de Pinet from Flores. Food was excellent and the bar was hoppin - saw several staff we've known for years of coming to one of our favorite spots in PDX!!

   The food was too salty - the steak was over seasoned, the veggies were salty and the mushrooms had so much garlic it overpowered the mushroom flavor. My husband got the scallops and said his meal was overly salty as well.

   As always, wonderful service in a lovely room! We always enjoy our time at Higgins and New Years Eve was no exception. Sometimes holidays can be problematic nights to dine out - especially with theater tickets in your pocket, and a timeline to adhere to, but our server was on top of everything and even told us we did not have to miss dessert, as he’d make sure we got out on time. Cocktails, wine and dinner were great - my risotto being the only slight miss with too much salt, but delicious anyway. (I had to stop about 3/4 of the way knowing I’d be sorry about all that salt down the line.) Our starter, a truffled timbale with frisée on the side was truly outstanding and made the evening. Hoping to be in again soon for a more relaxed evening.

   Great meal, great service. Food is delicious and inventive. Cocktails and wine list are top notch. One of the best restaurants in downtown Portland.

   While there are trendier restaurants in town, Higgins always delivers with great bistro food and service with reasonable price. Try the steaks too.
