   Loved every second! From the Gracious hostess who welcomed us early at the bar to the lovely waitstaff … and damn. That food! Incredible flavors and textures. Just joyous. Best Italian I’ve had in SF in a long while and the old school ambience… people eating lustily and having fun. No one taking food photos. Too busy eating. Perfect

   The food here remains as good as under the former ownership. The octopus stew was delicious with a fabulous tomato sauce. The tuna heart pasta continues to be a favorite. Our service was very attentive and helpful. We are sorry we waited so long to get back!

   The only restaurant I'm aware of in the Bay area that serves Sardinian food. Think octopus, squid, sea urchin, squid ink, interesting pastas. We split a spaghetti dish, then had pasta with squid ink and roasted prawns. All the dishes are in Sardu, the Sardinian language, which I found fascinating. Not cheap, but the place was packed, which should tell you something.

   We had not been back to La Ciccia since the ownership change. Our waiter was excellent. Food was good but my favorite pasta dish that I was so looking forward to ( spaghetti with bottarga) was really oversauced, too much butter, and not as amazing as it used to be! The calamari was excellent, as was the wine selection. The front of house greeting was not as warm as with the previous ownership , although maybe it was because we arrived right as the restaurant was opening for the evening.

   We just absolutely love the food here. We got the burrata and arugula salad with truffle dressing, the roasted calamari (to die for!), the potato truffle gnocchi (best gnocchi we've ever had, so pillowy!), and the shrimp main. The wine is delicious and pairs so nicely. Highly recommend for the outstanding food!

   Overall, a good experience at La Ciccia. The Seared Lamb Tenderloin is excellent - highly recommended. The pasta with uni (sea urchin) is quite good and has unique flavors.
