I don’t typically write about food but this meal was exceptional. Flavors were extraordinary in everything we tried. The squids ink spaghetti was a standout dish, beautifully made and unbelievably delicious. Go. It’s Wilmington but it challenges the best of Philly or NYC. Really.

We have been to LaFia a few times and every dish generally has been a winner. This time, we tried the Eggplant Milanese, and for lack of better words…it’s just not good? It was lacking acidity or something, but was generally inedible. Everything else was a hit, including the cheese board and little gem salad. Our server was fantastic, the ambiance was lovely, but just order the eggplant with caution.

It seems crazy to rate a restaurant experience a 5/5 on EVERY aspect, but our experience on Saturday, 12/7 2024 was spectacular! I made a reservation for 2 @8:00pm to celebrate my 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend. Not being from the area at all, picking from such a wide array of restaurants in Wilmington was a bit overwhelming. Needless to say, La Fia was the right choice. When we arrived, we were seated immediately in the back, private corner of the restaurant. The ambience is extremely warm and cozy, and despite the restaurant being full, the noise was minimal. Our server, Natasha ( I hope we remember correctly!) was SPOT ON. We were greeted, and offered a toast on the house. It was delicious! Such a nice touch. We ordered the Stracciatella starter, which I really cannot explain well - but it is a must order. We also got extra toast when our waitress noticed we flew through it - lol. We ordered a round of cocktails and our mains. Our whole experience was well-paced. For dinner, I ordered the grilled pork coppa. Balanced, tender and absolutely stunning. However, I was tempted by what my girlfriend ordered - the Parsnip Agnolotti. We both admittedly tried to eat slowly… but the food was way too good. Since it was our special day, we both ordered a dessert + a cappuccino and a latte. The chocolate cake and the roasted banana ice cream. Both were absolutely delicious - rich but so balanced. A real treat! We are both incredibly impressed. The food, atmosphere and most importantly, the people at La Fia create a safe and welcoming place to share your special moments! We will return.

We haven’t been to La Fia for some time and are very, very happy that we went back. The entire experience was great. Our drinks were perfect. The fig toast was delicious and the Halibut was close to the best we have ever had. Our service was attentive and friendly. We strongly recommend it and intend to go back frequently. Thanks to the entire team for a wonderful evening.

It's become a tradition the last couple of years to go to La Fia the night before Thanksgiving; it's fun and festive and amazing food that doesn't feel like it's going to be repetitive of the meal the next day--and my family that comes in from out of town is always looking forward go a chance to get back to the amazing food they know they'll have at La Fia. As always, the food was outstanding, the cocktails superb, and the service impeccable. The new pappardelle dish is a total wow; I feel like I'm cheating on my usual favorite pasta, the bucatini, but it's amazing. Everything else was outstanding, as always. La Fia is such a gem!

La Fia may just be the best restaurant in Delaware. The dining room is inviting and unpretentious, but the food ranks right up there with some of the best spots in Philadelphia. I have never had a bad dish here - the menu rotates seasonally but there are some stand-out staples that remain, such as the duck leg confit. The servers are incredibly knowledgable and personable. While there are bigger-name, more publicized restaurants down the street, La Fia is a hidden gem where you can have a quality meal for a reasonable price.
