   I feel badly for SF restaurants having to opt for prefix menu and gratuity included due to the ratio of foreigners but it ruins the experience for locals and their guests. The food was ok and the service was ok but clearly stretched to capacity with holiday overbooking. Maybe a locals menu and top tier servers for them.

   They not tell us it was price fix so meal bad and ver disappointed…. Our expectations were definitely not met.all they had to do was tell us of the change and we could have cancelled the dinner. We canceled the next reservation with them because experience and meal were so poor.

   This was a delightful experience start to finish. The prix-fixe menu had a number of excellent choices. We started with a delicious creamy lobster bisque that was not at all lacking in lobster. We had to request bread, but it was delivered promptly & warm with a delicious butter just tinged with honey & herbs. Between the four of us we tried the Chilean sea bass, the prime rib, the lamb shank & the chicken cordon Bleu. All entrees were delicious & were quite ample portions. The flan for dessert was creamy & sweet. Our waiter, Armando, was amazing! He was attentive without being overbearing, charming and accommodating. He recognized that we were attending a concert, had time constraints and smoothed the way for us. Food, service, ambience…fabulous!

   Everything in the experience was another level. Service by Yazz was personalized and top notch. Ambience so romantic. Could hear live music coming from the bar next door. Food was original, high quality and amazing. Easily one if the best dinners of life!

   We had a wonderful night. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they made it very special. Jose, the bar manager made him his favorite drink. At the table our lovely server Yazz brought us some champagne and after dinner a delicious with a lit candle. Even the manager came by to greet us. The food was fabulous as always. The LaFonda has been our go to in Santa Fe for years.

   Lobster bisque was fantastic as was table side guacamole. Scallop main course and Chile Rellenos also excellent. Disappointing were the fillet mignon, a little tough and not much flavor. It's beautiful inside and despite the hard surfaces we found it quite easy to talk across what was a fairly large table for 4 people.

   My wife and I have been eating at La Plazuela for over 45 years. It has always been one of our favorites. That said, we believe in the last few years we feel it has gotten even better. We were in Santa Fe for a week recently and ate at this restaurant three times. Our only issue is that it has become very expensive - but so has everything else and we are OK with the cost given the crazy good food and excellent service.

    Couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere for a little holiday get together with girlfriends. The staff was attentive and friendly. The table side guacamole was perfect. And all of our entrees were delicious!
