The regional and contemporary menu at Lago is a culmination of northern Piedmontese dishes to Sicilian seafood dishes inspired by 30 years of Italian cooking and upbringing. We have also added in some popular American-Italian dishes for those guests looking for a more modern Italian dining experience.                                                                       The cocktails, food (octopus, scallops, short ribs, brussel sprouts, and tiramisu), service, and acoustic music were good, but the rude attitude of the hostess who couldn't be bothered to greet us, the lack of acknowledgment of what we were celebrating by anyone, and the laissez faire valet ('here are your keys, your car is over there" even though we tipped him $5!) detracted from our night.

                                                                      While the environment was fun and food delicious, our service was terrible. Our waitress rarely came around. She got our drink orders and checks incorrect, and even charged us for drinks she forgot to bring to us. We waited 50 minutes at one point for our drinks, even though we had reminded her twice thereafter. Eventually we went to the bar ourselves to order drinks. A few meal items were incorrect as well. Unfortunate that gratuity is built in because we would have left less than what was billed given the poor service and unnecessary wait times. The restaurant was busy but there still were tables open. A big thank you to the servers that saw the issue and sprang into action, all while attending to their assigned tables. They were kind, understanding, helpful, and efficient. Side note: the espresso martini, which I ordered not creamy, came out incredibly sweet that I could not drink it. It was taken off of my bill, so that is a plus. Lesson learned: order it "not creamy and not sweet."

When we visit Cleveland again, Lago is going to be a must, hopefully Kate is still there. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all top notch. Kudos to all of you!!
