   My husband and I had a delightful stay and dinner at the Lake Rabun Hotel. Our entrees were the Filet and the Pecan Crusted Trout, both were delicious! Our server was wonderful, and the drinks were very nice as well. We split an Apple Cobbler dessert - perfect finish to a wonderful meal!

   This was our second time coming to the Lake Rabun Hotel Restaurant. We are from out of town and stay at a cabin nearby once a year. The tables in the outside dining area have a beautiful ambience. Our waitress Taylor recommended such tasty entrees and was so kind and accommodating all night. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed. We now know why the pecan crusted trout is a fan fave (10/10), and the lamb chops were so tender. The seasonal drinks had so much flavor and were also very well thought out. All in all the Lake Rabun Hotel Restaurant shows so much attention to detail and we will continue to come back again and again.

   We were seated. Server took drink orders. Delivered drinks. Asked if we were ready to order. The menu items that half of our party chose were unavailable. The prime rib sandwich and steak/eggs. Felt server had plenty of opportunities to let us know this info before we ordered.

   Rustic restaurant with great ambiance. Well stocked bar with seasonal drink specials. Nice energetic staff. Pecan crusted trout was excellent.

   Was our anniversary, had been there before but it was several years ago. The food was terrible. The sides had way too much seasoning. We could not eat the sides and the main dish was not much better. My husband never complains but he told the waitress he didn’t like it. He told me he owed me another anniversary meal. because it was so bad. I can’t remember having such a bad meal.

It’s especially upsetting to hear that it didn’t live up to the expectations you had, especially after having enjoyed a previous visit with us. We absolutely want every guest to leave happy, especially on such a special occasion, and it’s clear we missed the mark this time. I apologize for the over-seasoning on the sides and the quality of the main dish. That is definitely not the experience we want to provide.    While staying in the hotel, we enjoyed a dinner in the restaurant. We both ordered the popular trout entree which was very good. The service was just attentive enough. For me, the ambiance of the rustic dining room was the most memorable aspect. We would dine with Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant again and recommend to those visiting beautiful Lakemont.

    Each time I come to my home in Highlands, I make a point of taking a drive to Lakemont to eat at Lake Rabun Hotel. The drive is beautiful, especially at this time of year. And the destination is well worth the time it takes to drive there. I can always count on delicious food and friendly service. The hotel itself is a joy, reminiscent of gracious days gone by in elegant, rustic decor. And the cuisine is wonderful.
