The Late August name derives from the joyful time of year when the Sears catalog would arrive at your doorstep, bringing a deep desire and wonderment to all who would receive it and begin feverishly circling the items that would hopefully arrive for Christmas.Our restaurant, set in the previous Historic Downtown Sears building, seeks to bring that same wonder to guests through its atmosphere, service, and cuisine.     We loved everything we ordered. The drinks were amazing, the food was delicious and flavorful. Everything served was impeccable. The service was excellent and was made even more special by Edgar. We’re happy we chose to celebrate our 7th anniversary here. The establishment is truly deserving of its michelin star.

    This is one of Houston’s best restaurants. Very good steak and arguably even better pastas. The Rigatoni in Vodka sauce is better than Carbone’s and their Lobster fra diavolo is stunningly good. Their Italian favorites like Veal Parm and Veal Milanese are also remarkable. The atmosphere and live piano music is the frosting on the cake. It’s a updated version Gene and Georgetti (Chicago).

    Our dinner at Drake’s was just what we needed for a date night and a special time together for my boyfriends birthday. I appreciate the grace as we were running late and the team was accommodating and kind, even though we were behind schedule and closing was at 10p. Thank you for the hospitality. A little bit of kindness goes very long way.
