In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. Our waiter was great. The food was pretty good but nothing special. The shrimp on the poboy was small were no better than frozen packaged from the grocery store. The fresh peel shrimp were fabulous and the fried oysters were pretty good. The fish in the fish and chips was overcooked. Overall, a good experience.

This is the only restaurant we go to everytime we are here. Food is excellent, ambiance is relaxing, and service is superb. Our waiter was Christopher S who was excellent, and we ALWAYS have great service.
