The restaurant was busy yet our service was excellent. Food was delicious.

Had another wonderful dinner at Morton's with our daughter, who is home for the holidays. We enjoyed two steak and seafood specials split among three of us and upgraded the steaks, which was a great value for a prime steakhouse. So much food came out that we had enough leftovers for another meal. The steaks were done a perfect medium rare -- we have them serve the steaks family style, cut and put in the center of the table. The mushrooms with spinach is the perfect side dish and they added horseradish to the mashed potatoes for us -- delicious if you like horseradish. Lobster tails were about 4 ounces each, juicy and flavorful. Molten lava cake with plenty of ice cream was delicious as well. Service was very efficient and meal was nicely paced, especially because the restaurant was packed.

We dine here regularly and love it. It's a great break from shopping. The food is excellent and the staff is well trained. I love the seafood curry.

Amaterasu has moved from its previous location at the Artizen bar inside Velocity to its own shop on the first floor of Ala Moana (directly under The Lanai). Chef Hideo is still at the helm creating an elegant experience for $89 lunch and $150 dinner, all BYOB, with exceptional fish selections, preparation, and service. Our recent dinner here was perfection. I've been to multiple different omakase in this price point on the island and Amaterasu continues to be my favorite. It's the right balance of traditional and modern in a comfortable, beautiful setting, with a small bar seating of 7 people. Every piece is perfectly constructed with care. He does prefer specific kinds of seafood, such as engawa, toro, mackerel, amaebi. Will return!
