In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. Very nice alternative to cooking Thanksgiving meal. Was seated on time and our server was very attentive but not pushy. The entre was delivered a little too soon but that wasn’t a show-stopped for us. Will do this again next year.

It was a great experience. We did the Thanksgiving lunch. The turkey was outstanding never had turkey that moist. It was the best turkey I have ever had. You could also order off the dinner menu but was not aware of this until after we ordered. I do wish they would bring down the house lights more. Its to bright in there now to be romantic.

Gaido is a Galveston institution- and our family eats there every time we are in town. Excellent service, delicious food and the warm ambiance of tradition is always a must. This time we had the raw oysters (in season) which were delicious and my husband appreciated the custom martini menu. We also never forget to order the pecan pie- which is famous for a reason! Great food, great memories and like always, we will be back….

This was our first time trying this place while we are here on vacation. Our server Joe was outstanding. The best service we have ever had . We ordered the Smoked boudin balls, Seafood Ceviche , and Prime Rib. 10/10 Also , there was a server named Landon there as well that was next to our section. He was awesome as well.
