I had an incredible experience! The service was outstanding, and the food was fantastic—truly authentic Thai cuisine with some delightful modern twists that captured the true flavors of Thailand. The owner was very welcoming, and it's heartwarming to see a family-run establishment. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was perfectly spicy and loaded with large shrimp. The Pad Thai was a highlight, featuring a whole chicken leg and thigh that were cooked to perfection. The ribs were also a treat, glazed with a tangy sauce that was simply delicious. The drinks were equally impressive! To access the restaurant, you walk through a modern cafe/bakery, giving it a speakeasy vibe. However, the location was a bit tricky to find, as it’s situated across from the theatre on Carlton, underneath a condo building on south side of Carlton . Improved signage would definitely help. Highly recommend visiting will be going back !

We found this pub/restaurant for date night. Enjoyed the ambience, the service was excellent and the food was very good. Would definitely return when we’re back in Toronto.

The Menu Dégustation we enjoyed on Sunday, December 29th, 2024, was nothing short of phenomenal, with each course showcasing impeccable technique and creativity. The evening began with Oyster, Caviar, and Cream, a luxurious opener that set the tone for the night. The Éclair with Foie Gras and Persimmon was a delightful blend of rich and sweet flavors, while the Beef Tartare with Smoked Bone Marrow added a satisfying depth and smokiness. The seafood courses were exquisite: the Hiramasa Crudo with Saffron Tosazu was vibrant and fresh, and the Squid Ink Risotto with Crab and Chorizo was a standout dish with bold flavors. The Halibut with Dashi Vin Blanc and Ikura struck the perfect balance between delicate and savory. For the meat course, the Aged Duck with Beet and Pepper was perfectly cooked and full of robust flavors. The pre-desserts and desserts were equally impressive: the Yogurt with Pomelo and Cardamom was refreshing, while the Pain Perdu with Buckwheat Almond was a satisfying finale. The Petit Fours added a delightful sweet touch to conclude this culinary journey. The menu felt like a symphony of flavors, textures, and artistry. Combined with attentive service and a warm ambiance, Dopamina is undoubtedly one of Toronto’s top fine-dining destinations. We were there for an early post-theatre dinner so were seated promptly and greeted by our server. Our server was very attentive and topped out our water frequently. My husband and I had the linguine with tiger shrimp and piri-piri chicken respectively and both were good, but we expected more at that price point. I also had the Lisbon old fashioned which was just okay. Overall the service was great, food was good.

Great restaurant with great food. My go to place for Christmas Eve
