Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Always a five star experience at the Washington Inn. Our server Roxy was amazing. We've had her before. She's so sweet and attentive. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and delicious. It is one of our Go to favorite places.
