Restaurants near Carmel River State Beach

After a disappointing from-of-house experience at another local restaurant, Rio Grill was the perfect anecdote to bad service! Although we have dined here many times before, it was usually for lunch, not dinner. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive to the multiple food allergies in our party, and the other staff made sure that all of our needs were met when refills of bread were due. We had a really lovely dinner, with great food for the price. We look forward to returning again. Rio Grill never disappoints!

Food was excellent. Wait to be seated 30 mins after reservation and then when seated needed to get attention of waitstaff for food and drink.

This fine restaurant has lost a little of its "edge," as it undergoes renovations. Much of the allure of the place was the wonderful ambience and views inside the dining room. The relocation of the dining area during renovations has eliminated much of that. It also seems to have taxed the service staff, who were slower than usual. The presence of a band, although a nice touch in some venues, seemed a little out of place in a fine dining establishment and was loud enough that it interfered with quiet dinner conversation.

My experience was very good honestly the waitress that helped us did a fantastic job of serving us and always checked in on us to see how we were doing and the food was honestly great for a first time going there I really enjoyed it would definitely recommend going there and going back there once again and then on the house special was a 10/10 .

I choose this place due to other reviews saying it’s a very romantic ambiance and they were right, we were seated outside in the back and i looks like every table had a heater which was so nice. For sure recommend the bread service, I will be coming back for sure!
