Established in 1983, Chamard Vineyards, is one of the Connecticut Wine Trails founding fathers. Tucked between the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, Chamard enjoys a unique marine micro-climate ideal for growing European Vinifera vines such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Excellent dining experience in every way—warm, inviting ambiance, thoughtful and courteous waitstaff, delicious cuisine, and reasonably priced. Lively bar opposite the dining room for those who want a little more variety, but it’s not excessively noisy. Practically a Westbrook institution—so consistently well done for years.

The excellent reviews brought us here and we were not disappointed! I’m not a fan of Mexican food, but I will return. Skirt steak, quesadillas, fresh guacamole, jalapeno cornbread, a glass of Malbec. It was a great meal with professional service. I’m looking forward to brunch there soon.
