Restaurants near Charles W. Merrill House

As a foodie, I'm comfortable saying that this is the best French restaurant in the East Bay. We've been going here Three or four times a year since the restaurant opened and it's always been great. Chef Paul and his team are awesome. The outdoor patio area is wonderful in the summer and covered and heated in the winter.

Salads and sandwiches very tasty. We had a very nice and accommodating waiter. Good lunch restaurant!

Fried chicken is excellent! Many many menu items are the same.

Glad to be able to get a Valentine's Day reservation on fairly short notice. The service was friendly and welcoming. It was a busy night, and the server was honest about our not having time for dessert if we wanted to make our show. Too bad, because the desserts looked yummy and they have a great selection of after-dinner liqueurs (along with a great wine list). We had a salad and two entrees. Both were well conceived and presented. The salmon was cooked a little more than I requested but was still tasty. Overall a lovely Valentine's Day dinner!

We have been frequenting this restaurant after viewing a film at the Orinda Theatre. We have found the service to be accommodating and the food delicious. I appreciate that they have many vegetarian choices in their soups and entrees. The noise level is usually moderate. It was energetic on this day because there was a large group watching the Super Bowl.
