- NNancyChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe brought our two grandsons (ages 5 and 3) to the Walnut Room in Chicago on 1/3/2025, to experience the holiday decor. The "fairies" circulating around to each table were so engaging while chatting with our grandsons, and explaining how to "make a wish". Our server was very friendly and efficient, even under the pressure of a very busy day at the restaurant. The food was very good, and I was pleasantly surprised to see kids menu items available, which our grandsons thoroughly enjoyed. Two small glitches. . 1. Upon arrival, there were soiled napkins/food items on the floor next to one of the chairs at our table. I was disappointed at that mess. One of the "fairies" noticed this mess and got the staff to clean it up and 2. Our cocktails were served AFTER our food arrived. Despite these two small glitches, we had a wonderful time together, and on the way home, our 5 year old grandson told us he had the BEST DAY ever.More infoThe Walnut Room - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Loop•4.6
- SSarahVIPChicago / Illinois •19 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe (two adults and two kids) came here for dinner after a busy afternoon at the Children’s Museum, and we had a great experience. The service was very friendly and attentive and the food was a hit. Mac n cheese and fried chicken were appreciated all around, as were the hush puppies. My husband and I also did the whiskey business cocktail flight which was a good choice when we were having a hard time choosing. We’ll definitely be back.More infoChef Art Smith's ReunionPrice: Moderate• American• Lakeshore East•4.4
- MHMichelleHWisconsin •4 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoWe had the mushroom on bread and calamari for appetizers, they were very salty. The cream cheese and bread neutralized the saltiness of the mushrooms. For the calamari, we had to wash it down with the lemon and dip to relieve the saltiness. The soup of the day which was chicken tortilla was also very salty according to husband. The kids steak was great as well as the quesadillas! Seated immediately, service was quick, staff were friendly, ambiance was nice. Great experience overall but should really tone down a bit on the salt.More infoLiricaPrice: Moderate• Unspecified• Gold Coast / Streeterville•4
