Skua is a small basement restaurant and bar located on St Stephen street in Stockbridge. The food menu, led by Head Chef James Aikman, is seasonal, refined, well balanced and innovative. Drawing from a large library of pickled and fermented produce year round the kitchen team offers dishes that punch well above their weight and are produced in an exceptionally small space, visible to guests as they enter the restaurant. The cocktail programme, spearheaded by Jacob Thunder is equally innovative and playful with a regularly rotating selection of house favourites as well as the classics available on request. Skua has been listed in the Michelin Guide and The Good Food Guide since its opening year in 2023.

With a wide range of local and sustainable suppliers at our doorstep, from our Lobsters and Crabs at Belhaven Lobsters in Dunbar to our vegetables and Native breed meats at Free Company Farm in Balerno we’re lucky to be taking advantage of Scotlands unique and unrivalled natural larder. The Cumberland Bar serves Scottish food, real ale, classic wine and spirits in Edinburgh’s New Town. It takes about 15 minutes to reach its location at 1-3 Cumberland Street on foot from Waverley Station.     It was Amazing, we went there for my partners birthday 19th December. We booked for 7pm but was very cold so headed there earlier and got a very warm welcome by the floor manager serena she was very welcoming and the service was outstanding, very lovely to chat to. We had artichokes heart for starters and I had gnocchi for my main and Mike had carbonara we tried a bit of each others and was food heaven. I had pistachio cheesecake and there was candle put in there for mikes birthday 🎂 as requested was Amazing evening. Will definitely be going back, even if you are not vegan you will love it. This place is a little gem and a must to eat at. Thanks to Novapizza for making our experience Amazing. Love Claire and Mike
