Great choice. Bowdies or Capital is always a debate in Lansing but Capital edged them out in this case. Meting our son’s new girlfriend for the first time so it was a semi special event. Waiters gave us enough space to talk without constant intrusion and lessened the nerves all around. Enough menu choices for the girlfriend to not have to get the most expensive steak. Son got his 60 pound ribeye so he was thrilled. Apparently grad students are like hummingbirds consuming their weight in calories daily. My wife loved the perfectly prepared filet and the espresso martini’s and I savored my one glass of the house Cabernet (designated driver). Overall great food, exemplary service, great atmosphere and though expensive, was still a value for the experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. A special thank you to Blake for his outstanding customer service—he reached out to us personally about an item that was forgotten at dinner and made our visit truly memorable by making sure we got it back to cherish! Truly a Christmas miracle. Highly recommend this place! It has been a family tradition with our grandparents for years and will continue to be moving forward!

Excellent service and food. The bolognese and tiramisu are incredible. Excellent wine choices. The wine tasting room is an excellent way to try a few things before committing to a glass with your meal.

Zehnder's has consistently excellent food. It may be pricey, but at least you know what you will get. I generally get the family style fried chicken dinner. The chicken is excellent. The first round of dishes include great cole slaw, amazing cranberry relish, and stollen (my favorite German bread) among other things. The main course includes the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables (of which hubbard squash is the most excellent), noodles (a favorite of all kids in my family). Yum!! This time of year you can even get peppermint stick ice cream for dessert. It doesn't get any better than that!
