Located in the original Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is Sanderling’s casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine. After the winter renovations, the second level now offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound and available for large parties with an expansive kid’s menu. The menu changes seasonally, and specials feature the freshest of the day’s catch. This season’s highlights are Shrimp and Grits, Crab Stuffed Flounder or Pan Seared Duck Breast. Since the restaurant's inception in 1985, the Sanderling Blue Crab Chowder has been a favorite. The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list.     We love to eat out, Love good food and trying new places all over the country! This was such a Gem!!!! The Ambiance and the View were Amazing! The service was good. Everything we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly and we ordered a lot! 3 appetizers, a salad, 3 Entrees and 2 rounds of their crafted cocktails. Only downside to the evening was the ridiculous amount of TAX! There are 4 seperate Taxes… on the food and drinks even before we added in our 20% tip for our server! The taxes they charge are excessive! We have been to lots of upscale places in the area and never encountered such high taxes. However we had an amazing time!

    Our dinner overlooking the Sound at Aqua was amazing. The warm bread, several appetizers, steaks and finally the peanut butter pie. Literally one of the best desserts my wife and I have ever had. The service in particular Gwen were top notch as well. Can’t wait to go again the next time we are in Duck.

    It was our first trip to the Outer Banks, and we went to the Village Table and Tavern for my wife's birthday. We had a wonderful server, a perfect table by the water, and we really enjoyed our meal. We shared the Chicken and Waffles appetizer. It was very good. The tenders were a little rubbery (probably because they were frozen); however, the breading on the tenders was INCREDIBLE and the maple syrup was fabulous. The waffles were also very good. So, an 8/10 there. Then, we split the Roasted Half Chicken with amazingly good mashed potatoes, and we subbed the green beans for the broccoli au gratin. The chicken was good, but the broccoli was out of this world. We ordered an additional side of it, just to have some more. So, a 10/10 on the entree and additional side of broccoli au gratin. My wife was tired, so we didn't do a dessert for her birthday. It was a great experience, and we will definitely return on our next trip to the OBX.
