Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red's Beverage Manager Patrick Halloran.The warehouse-style building, previously the Old Steam Laundry which serviced the University since the 1950’s, has additional space for private dining and parties. What a great experience! My friend has a limited pallet. When we got there the selections were not of his liking. Angelia the waitress and I take about what maybe could help. She and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and adjusted a dish to suit his pallet. When the dishes came out, I have to say the mouth started watering. The salad was the best I've ever had in my life!! The schnitzel i had was delicious with hints of fennel in the breading. They offered dessert but there was no room. I recommend this place highly!!! CIA chef ran IYKYK!!
