The timing of the service of each course was perfect! We never felt rushed and we did take our time enjoying each and every bite! All staff were great. Our server Nina was exceptional! Great knowledge of the dishes as well as the wines that complimented them. She was so genuine, nice and fun which added so much to our experience! We had the squash blossoms, blue prawns, insulate di cicoria (which was plentiful- we shared it) wild boar papperdelle pasta dish, and spaghetti ala vongole! Had a great bottle of vermentino that was featured this week. Finished with tiramisu, espresso martini and limoncello! Buonissima! Almost forgot to mention the view! - JJohn and JenVIPChicago / Illinois •145 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe recently dined at Toro by Chef Richard Sandoval in Chicago, and it was an exceptional experience! The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and innovative Latin cuisine truly set it apart. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The menu is a delightful fusion of bold Central and South American flavors, expertly crafted with Chef Sandoval's innovative techniques. We started with the ceviche, which was fresh and bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced with sweet potato and red onion. The sweet corn empanada was a delightful surprise, with its crispy exterior and flavorful filling. The lobster roll was a highlight, with tender lobster meat complemented by a tangy aioli. The Cusco chicken was tender and juicy, with a rich, savory sauce that added depth to each bite. The potato 3 way was a creative and delicious dish that showcased the versatility of this humble ingredient. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is lively yet intimate, perfect for a special occasion or a casual night out. Overall, Toro by Chef Richard Sandoval is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience contemporary Latin cuisine at its finest. We highly recommend making a reservation and indulging in this culinary journey.More infoToro by Chef Richard Sandoval – ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Latin• Downtown / Loop•4.5

Everyone is so kind and attentive from the host, to the servers and bartenders. Eddie makes the best Mojitos and we always have a great conversation. The Blue fin tuna is the best! We also love the crab maki - delicious!More infoMiru at The St. Regis ChicagoPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• River North (Chicago)•4.7
- RRanyaVIPChicago / Illinois •9 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWent yesterday for hubby's birthday. Overall, wonderful experience. At first, I was a little miffed being seated right by the open kitchen and hearing the expediter throughout our meal especially with this being a special occasion which is why I rated noise level a 4. But that annoyance quickly subsidded as soon as our main server Kellen introduced himself. He exuded warmth and just immediately put us at ease, just Loved him!. Additionally, our other server Ian was very pleasent and had a constant warm smile on his face and did a great job keeping our water filled, cooking our meat, and generally making sure we didn't need anything, such a pleasent person and on top of his work. When we first sat down, they welcomed us with a little birthday card for hubby signed by the staff. They also had a non alcoholic toast drink for us (we don't drink). The only thing they missed was a candle in the cake we ordered for dessert but I asked for one and they quickly brought it. We ordered the wagyu set with hanger steak add on, monkey bread, mixed greens, bone marrow, fois gras, scalops, beef fat fries, bolognese, chocolate cake, coffee and banana tea. Everything was delicious , monkey bread was the best and surprisingly the banana tea was so good. My husband loved his birthday meal and the experience was great. It is oblivious the staff are all happy to work there and they all get along with eachother. It's a great vibe amongst them and that comes through in the service to customers from the hostess desk to the bar to the servers to the kitchen staff. One thing I didn't like was the bone marrow as I expected to be more roasted which is not how they make it (other tables were eating it and looked to be enjoying it), it just wasn't to my taste. They proactively took that off the bill (didn't have to ask) which was a very nice gesture. I highly recommend you give them a try and we will for sure be back to dinner and also want to try lunch and brunch there. Our server, Alex, was so professional and personable. My son met us over his lunch hour and Alex timed his food perfectly to his arrival.More infoTerrace 16Price: Expensive• Contemporary American• Near North•4.4
