Brooks is a phenomenal part of their staff. He made great recommendations, and anticipated needs like a pro. If you are lucky enough to land in his section, it will be a treat.

We celebrated our daughter’s college graduation here! It was the perfect experience and setting! The service was amazing and the food fantastic! I recommend the pork pot stickers for sure! I had a sandwich and was very pleased ☺️. Everything was great, can’t pick just one thing!! We will return!!!

The four course date menu or the chef’s 7 course tasting menu are our favorites! Tonight the Korean chicken starter had great flavor with the right amount of heat! The butternut squash soup with homemade roasted marshmallow was our next selections. Terrific! I chose the scallops for my main course while my spouse had the linguini with clams. The pumpkin crème brule dessert and coconut sorbet were a nice ending to our meal! Our friends had a beautifully plated and delicious beet salads and rack of lamb with mango sorbet. We had a relaxing 2 hour dinner with great service and time with Chef Anthony! Our favorite chef-owned restaurant in Omaha!

We celebrated our 50th and 51st wedding anniversaries at J Gilbert’s. We were so impressed last year with the staff and food, that we decided to celebrate another anniversary there. We were treated again with a card and free dessert or glass of champagne for our anniversary! Tonight we had the chef’s prix fixe meal. Their prices are very reasonable. My wife had a wedge salad, (loaded with lots of goodies) a filet, (cooked to perfection), asparagus spears, and poblano scalloped potatoes, YUM! I had the Maryland crab bisque, a rich and delicious soup, a 14 oz Duroc pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans. I ate it all. We finished the night with the apple croustade, recommended by our server Silvia, she was great, and so was the croustade! We took home our free carrot cake to have tomorrow. It’s large enough to feed 4 people. Thank you, J Gilbert for another wonderful evening!

My mother and I go every year to celebrate my birthday. They have excellent food, if a little pricey. Perfect for a treat / special occasion type of place. Outside of my budget to eat there regularly, though unfortunately. We usually have whatever quiche of the day they have available. It has never steered us wrong. They also have REALLY good raspberry cheesecake, so leave room for dessert! Our latest server, Mallory, was wonderful- very personable, attentive despite being super busy, and just made my birthday lunch that much more special. We made sure to tip extra well so she knew we appreciated her, as she was a VERY busy bee buzzing from table to table spreading sunshine and a smile as she went. We'll be back again next year to continue the tradition!
