Restaurants near Douglas Avenue

As always, the food and service were excellent! We keep going back to wine dive for food that never disappoints and for the ability to enjoy tasting several wines. We always look forward to being surprised by finding something new and the ability to taste a good variety of wines.

This restaurant is one of the best fine dining experiences you can have in the city of Wichita. I have eaten all over this country in many fine dining establishments and Georges ranks right up there with the best of them. From Hell's Kitchen in California to Firefly in Florida it is comparable to those. The lamb dish I had was so delicious. My wife ordered the scallops and pork belly and it was cooked to perfection. Both dishes were so good we switched halfway through the meal because we liked the other person's food as well and we wanted to eat them both. The cappuccino martini well if you know you know and if you don't you need to know so you need to try it out. My wife had a cherry on top which she said was okay but her lemon drop martini. She gives it a 10-star rating. You must save room for dessert because the opera cake is so good I should have gotten a peace to take home with me. Our waitress was so knowledgeable about the menu items she deserves a shout-out for a job well done. I wish I could remember her name so I could give her the praise she deserves. It was a little crowded because we had reservations for Valentine's Day so that was expected. The only item that needs to the addressed would have to be the chairs to the tables. My wife had to switch chairs twice because the backs were so loose she thought it would break and she would fall in front of everybody. Overall I would have to say this is one of the best places to eat in all of Wichita. We will be back.

Service was fantastic and food was good. Only thing to complain about was the added 20% gratuity for just two of us. I knew it would be busy going out on Valentine’s Day, but if service had been bad, then we would’ve still been required to leave a 20% tip. I am in no way blaming the server for this at all. She was great and we would’ve tipped more if the restaurant had not included the tip on the bill. We will definitely go again in the future, but not on a holiday.

Extremely busy evening (Valentine’s Day) and they handled it very well! Servers were super friendly and courteous, food was exceptional and we didn’t feel crowded. We have experienced ups and downs at Chester’s but tonight they had it all together. Hopefully, they are able to sustain this level because we love going there.

We had an excellent early-Valentine's dinner here. The food is always delicious, and this time was no exception. I particularly liked the lamb, which is a great addition to the menu. Do to the price, this restaurant is a once-a-year stop for us. We always really enjoy our time when we do go, which is usually for a special occasion like Valentine's or our Anniversary. Years ago we would receive a birthday email every year for a free filet dinner - it was for sure our go-to birthday spot when that was the case! We haven't received birthday emails for several year now, though.
