- CCatherineNewcastle and Northumberland •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis is our 3rd visit. Each time there has been a different ambiance. Today, Sunday, we visited before a classical music concert at the Fire Station and enjoyed the Sunday menu. The atmosphere was serene and festive. This contrasts with Saturday evenings in the summer with a younger, lively crowd. The menu was limited, but with enough to please everyone in the family. I had the lamb roast dinner. It was beautiful. The service was excellent. A lovely evening. I look forward to returning soon.More infoThe Engine RoomPrice: Moderate• British• Sunderland•4.4
- TTeresavipNewcastle and Northumberland •42 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWhilst the restaurant was very busy it had no impact on service, quality of food or ambience which was surprising. I had the lobster and chicken pie which was fantastic. Also I had their dessert soufflé which was also amazing! Everyone in our group of four was delighted though I was the only one to try something new! It is expensive but worth it!More info21Price: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8

Particularly loved the scallop starter and the beef wellington was one of the best we’ve ever had. All the staff were friendly and happy to give advice. Such a pity we live so far away!More infoBlackfriars RestaurantPrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
