The restaurant is named after America’s most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin. While he was pinnacle in America’s birth, he also became the first ambassador to France. While on trips to Paris, he would wine and dine with the best of them and when he returned, he would bring back the French culture, food and wine, and share it with our new nation. Dishes like Potato Lyonnaise and Crème Brulée were the first of his favorites he shared with America. The Benjamin reflects that bridged gap between the two countries’ cultures. The restaurant and bar is french-inspired, but uniquely American. It sits in Ridgefield's historic district in a 1875 house, but the interiors are modern, elegant and new. It’s a terrific spot with very tasty food, nice vibe, loud but not deafening! Gave only four stars for service because the staff was solid but not exceptional, and the kitchen struggled a bit to keep up with a busy - but not crazy - Friday night crowd.

I hoped the experience for a birthday for a party of two would have been provided not at a bar table, the noise so very loud we had to text each other to converse. I pointed to the items on the menu after 3 many attempts for the waiter to understand and crowd was way too many stsnding in the aisle and staff could not pass, just not a great spot for intimate party of 2 for a personal birthday dinner. I was truly impressed when I announced my name the hostess said ah yes for the birthday. thank you
