Restaurants near Fowler Woods State Nature Preserve

This was our first visit to Cooper's Hawk and it was delightful! We were seated in the dining room to the left of the reception desk which is partially divided by a half-wall. Although the tasting room and the bar-dining room were quite full, in our room it was quiet enough to converse easily, which was very pleasant as my guest and I were catching up on our lives so not having to shout over loud music was great. The food was superb. My guest ordered the chopped wedge salad and the meatball appetizer as an entree and praised both choices highly. I opted for the surf and turf by ordered the filet medallions topped with Parmesan cheese and 3 drunken shrimp. The meat was fork-tender and perfectly medium rare. This entree came with Mary's mashed potatoes and grilled mixed vegetables which were the tastiest veggies I have ever been served in a restaurant! We were so full we did not order dessert but the list was tempting. The chairs at the tables are even nicely padded and very comfortable even after sitting in them for an hour and a half. We'll be back soon!

A great dinner experience! Great staff and beautiful atmosphere!

This place is a hidden gem in Mansfield. It is quite literally worth the visit just to come to H&E. We met our four friends for a 60th birthday party. All of them truly enjoyed the ambiance and the quiet atmosphere. The owners, who are always cordial, visited with our table for ten minutes and very much helped to make our party special. Food was excellent; not one of our party had even an average review; each dish was carefully prepared and was delicious. Servers teamed up and kicked butt; johnny's on the spot and water glasses were not empty. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you want a great time and super food, this is your place!

We had an excellent experience! We went for a special occasion, and we weren’t disappointed. The staff was top notch, and made us feel comfortable and special, they were able to answer any questions we had and the owner came around to greet each table. The ambiance was unique (just remember you are underground so the smell may be a bit different and there could be some leaks now and then) but we thought everything was just lovely. The food was creative, thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We purchased some bottles of wine and some beer to go after dinner and we were able to take our menus home-since each one is printed with the individual diner’s name on it for an extra special touch.

The food was great! We had a long wait as they had a huge party prior to our arrival but our server was awesome. It was my husband's birthday so because of the wait they up graded a desert for him!!
