- JJaneHouston •8 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoDinner at Santacafe is always pleasant. Service is attentive and helpful with suggestions. Quietly available to refill wine glasses or remove unneeded plates. Scallops with mushroom risotto was delicious and perfectly prepared. The pork chop was perfectly cooked. Don’t overlook the apple and fig salad. Beautiful presentation and the vinaigrette was perfectly balanced with the fruit. Highly recommend this favorite of mine.More infoSantacafePrice: Moderate• American• Santa Fe•4.8
- DDaleVIPWisconsin •102 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIn my experience, restaurant week in Santa Fe can be a real "hit or miss" depending on the approach of the restaurant to the annual opportunity for patrons to try new things. We went to Coyote Cafe, not because we wanted a new experience, but because we had a friend visiting that had never dined there during her previous trips to the city. For a Tuesday night, the crowd seems generous with several large groups and numerous couples. Staffing seemed light but service remained outstanding with no fewer than five members of the team assisting our server with bringing food, clearing dishes, refreshing drinks, etc. Very nice! We ordered from the Restaurant Week specials menu to see what the team would offer and have to admit the meals presented were outstanding! For starters, the Ceasar salad was not the traditional rolled Ceasar I am accustomed to, but the flavors and textures were all there! Entrees of beef filet and crisp branzino were excellent and portion sizes were amazing -- this is where we have seen other local restaurants skimp during Restaurant Week...dumbing down entrees to tasting menu portions. Everyone was pleased and the tastes and textures were great. The white rice under the two filets of perfectly prepared branzino was uninspiring but that would be my only 'complaint' -- the simple white rice neither enhanced nor detracted from the excellent fish. Desserts were sublime and again very generous in portion size. The panna cotta under soft salted caramel sauce and the bruleed cheesecake were both excellent...no take aways required. A local friend, in response to learning where we were dining last night, remarked "Oh gosh, I haven't been there in years..." With so many excellent choices in town, I will admit we return only twice or three times each year...but a meal like last evening's reminds me why we return. I encourage others to return to give it a try!More infoCoyote CafePrice: Moderate• Southwest• Santa Fe•4.7
- MMarkeetaDallas - Fort Worth •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoNeeded to take a friend for a pre-concert birthday dinner-- and then found out it was Restaurant Week -- NOT my favorite time to go out to eat! Then found out from our extremely nice and professional server (sorry I can't remember her name) that we could also order from the regular menu. Our bill ended up near the same -- but we had 2 wonderful courses of our choice rather than 3 courses from a limited menu. I think the cholula has improved; the note I made the last time I went was that "it sounded better than it was." I had a couple of bites of my friend's order, and it tasted wonderful. I had the duck breast, which was cooked to scientific perfection -- fully cooked but not a minute more for a wonderful texture. Who knew the same combination in a dessert -- poblano mole ice cream, beet garnish and sweet potato chips --could taste so good and not weird? The ambiance, the food and the service -- worth every penny and calorie. In a different class than all the other "destination restaurants" I've experienced in Santa Fe.More infoSazonPrice: Very Expensive• Latin American• Santa Fe•4.8
