We tend to come here for special occasions. This was my wife's birthday. As always, the food and service were outstanding. Which is why we keep returning.

Great luncheon today. Lots of menu choices for winter warmers. I had the beef stew. Tender and tasted great, with a small salad and some bread. Just the right size portions, not to big and not to small. My wife had the chicken stew, and equally as satisfying. Our server was very attentive. We've been here before-sometimes good, sometimes not so much- and this is the best experience we've ever had.

The rice bowl with chicken was absolutely delicious…I rarely order this type of dish, but was delighted that I did. Our server Patrick was extremely professional and helpful. An overall positive experience ❗️

Philomena is a pillar in the DC community and for great reason. When you first walk down the, many steps, you enter your known as house. During the holiday season, the restaurant is decorated from head to toe with Christmas celebration. The staff are all extremely courteous and helpful And always dressed amazingly. The food is outstanding. All portions are large enough to share so get a few dishes and let your table enjoy old world Italian cuisine. Anything on the menu is a score in my book. But don’t forget always leave room for dessert. The cannoli are amazing!

Unlike many DC restaurants, Macon is quiet and relaxing. The servers are very pleasant and they don't pressure guests to free up table space. I always enjoy what I order. Macon is a neighborhood gem.
