- JJohnOrlando / Central Florida East •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoPorterhouse for 2 is fabulous! The shrimp. Cocktail was great, as was the tomato mozzarella salad. Even the mashed and asparagus were perfect. Crème brûlée was excellent as well.More infoRuth's Chris Steak House - Mohegan Sun at Pocono DownsPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Wilkes-Barre•4.7

- NNicoleScranton / Poconos •2 reviews4.0Dined 7 days agoWe decided to go to Power House because we have been before, and for a family with kids (under 12) it offers a normal environment (not too quiet) and a great menu selection outside our normal go-to restaurants. I made the reservation ahead of time because we wanted a specific type of booth (kids request due to it being a celebration) although it wasn't needed because there were only two other parties when we arrived at 5PM (Wednesday). The kids menu at Power House is above any other normal kids menu. The mac and cheese is homemade, there is a steak option which was the perfect size (and they loved the options of sides other than the norm of fries). The kids burger was also good - and bigger than you would expect from a kids menu, but again that's why we like their menu. Our kids are eaters and when the options are always chicken fingers, mini pizza, etc they get bored, but chicken fingers are also an option here. Our appetizer was enjoyable and different - we opted for the bore stuffed mushrooms. However, our main meals were mediocre at best. One meal was the wild mushroom risotto, which I was excited for because it's something not available everywhere, but it was all salt. I couldn't finish it due to the salt content albeit I tried, because I love both a risotto & mushrooms. The other main was chicken parm & while its a "safe" choice so we shouldn't have expected too much the amount of pasta was lacking especially for angel hair and the chicken was bland. We have ordered chicken parm from other local restaurants in the area and would say they are much better than PH. We definitely suggest staying with the seafood or more specialty options (and maybe mention light salt if you try the risotto). The bartender's service was EXCELLENT - she wasn't our server but assisted with seating and even helped me have a celebratory drink available immediately for my husband. She was super nice, and it didn't surprise us when we left she had a bar full of diners.More infoPowerhouse EateryPrice: Expensive• American• Scranton•4.6
- BBrittneyScranton / Poconos •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoAbsolutely amazing! Best food I’ve ever eaten in my life hands down. Started with the grilled octopus, which was my favorite thing we ate that night! We chose to do the asparagus pizza for our mid course, super light and the flavors all went so well together. For entrees we chose the strip and the short rib, 100% recommend those. Dessert was a pine nut tart and they were sweet enough to send out a scoop of tea biscuit gelato for a birthday dessert. It went so incredibly well with the tart and was very thoughtful. For drinks we did the Fumi Italiano, which while it was a well thought out drink, was not my favorite by any means. However the Whistle Pig Old Fashioned and the Ceasarino Martini were perfectly made. We also enjoyed glasses of their Vermentino, Chianti Classico, and split a bottle of their Barolo Lecinvenique which drank a little young because of the fairly new vintage but was still delicious. Spent about $150 a head but was worth every penny for a nice celebration. My only complaint was the tables were a little too close together for my comfort and it was quite loud in there but these things didn’t take away from my overall experience. Also Cassidy was a great server who added to the overall level of enjoyment. Would definitely go back for another special occasion!More infoThe RefineryPrice: Expensive• American• West Wyoming•4.9
