Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience.     If you are a noodle or sushi fan, this should be on your best-of-Philly list. The tuna tasting appetizer is a cut above many others- along with superb sushi and sashimi options. The Udon, which I have had twice and cannot get enough of, was excellent. The sake menu is also a big plus, you will find some nice sakes which is always a challenge in other restaurants, if they provide any at all. Dine in, the restaurant is very nice inside and you can watch the chefs in the open kitchen, a real treat!

    Our table was ready for us at the reserved time. Excellent service, all of the food brought to our table was appealing in presentation, at the right temperature, and very tasty. The manager (owner?) was very interested in our satisfaction with our experience. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be back.
