- DDonnaHawaii •1 review4.0Dined 1 day agoA little sketchy looking when we arrived by taxi (very dark road and had to walk in a bit that seemed at first to be a back entrance) once we got close though it was great. Great food, funky place. We went on a windy night so they had tarps up, would love to see it in the day. Very friendly staff and great service. Definitely recommendMore infoJellyfish RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Dominican Republic•4.3
- TToddVIPNew York City •13 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoWe ate at Brassa two nights while staying at the Westin. The food on both nights was excellent overall. We had the wedge salad, the cauliflower steak, the filet mignon, the mahi mahi, the Kansas striploin and the NY striploin. All of these were great, with the exception of the mahi mahi -- it was a very small portion and it was overcooked. The NY striploin was slightly better than the Kansas striploin but they were both really good. Both nights we had the mac and cheese side dish - the preparation was very different on the second night (not sure why? maybe a different chef). On the second night, it was very cheesy and flavorful -- first night, it was good, but more creamy and less cheesy. The server on the first night recommended the key lime pie for dessert -- which turned out to be a tiny, tiny bit of key lime pie with a HUGE mound of meringue on top. It was really terrible and the only significant miss in terms of the food. On our first night here, the service was atrocious. The hostess completely ignored us for a lengthy period of time upon arrival and seemed to be wandering the floor engaging in low priority tasks while we stood there waiting for over 10 minutes (with tables available!). Once we got seated, the service got a little better but only mildly so. It was exceptionally slow (even by Caribbean standards). As an example, we got our appetizers long before our two cocktails arrived. Service the second night was a little bit better. The biggest drawback to this restaurant, however, is the noise level. It's not to be believed how loud it gets. To make matters worse, they had a DJ playing the first night we were there. We could barely here each other speak. We chose to endure it since the food quality was overall pretty good.More infoBrassa RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Grill• Dominican Republic•4.6
- SStevenNew York City •1 review5.0Dined on Jan 10, 2025The food here is outstanding and the staff is very friendly. The indoor dining room is very loud with conversation but it's not too much of a distraction. This was our second visit to Bao and we can't wait until next time!More infoBAO RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Pan-Asian• Dominican Republic•4
