Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato.     For a pub, the food was surprisingly very good. My grouper was excellent and my colleague’s salmon was the same. Another mate had the wings which were crispy with a hit of spice in the coating. We chose this spot due to location as our hotel was less than a block away. We were all very pleased with the food. Service was friendly and attentive.

    I had a really pleasant experience. I went in to eat for one even though I put one person on the OpenTable reservation. It showed two on their computer so they were unsure. But overall, it looks really great. There was one guy that wasn’t a server but was making sure my drinks were filled, and I had what I needed, which was really great to see the partnership between him and the waiters

    Our family picked Amalfi Cucina in downtown Atlanta because it came up as an Italian option on Open Table app. It was a fantastic find and great food, service and all around great experience.
