- CChrisTucson •21 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt wasn’t busy and we were seated right away. Waiter was good. My in-laws asked to split an entree and they were served on separate plates which was good. My vegan tamale was tasty and had a like spice kick to it. Wife had the soup of the day, tomato bisque with chipotle. I had a taste and it was good. Also had a little spice kick to it.More infoThe Cup CafePrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Downtown Tucson•4.8
- AAmyvipDenver / Colorado •15 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAs others have noted, Bata is a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were in Tucson for less than a day, and I wanted to try something unique and memorable, and Bata is both of those (and then some). Our server DJ was knowledgeable and guided us through the food journey gently and competently. We opted to choose our food ourselves, though the option to have your server curate your meal exists. If you decide to go that route, though, the whole table has to choose the same thing. The fact the menu changes as often as it does is a real strength, I think, because it almost guarantees freshness, creativity, and excitement. The night we dined we enjoyed a lot of stuff I had to look up, but thoroughly enjoyed eating. The suggestion from DJ was two selections from each section of the menu, which is organized from light to heavy, so that's what we did. Everything was SO good. The malawach was outstanding. We tried two desserts, the smoked pumpkin cake and the chocolate gelato, and both were genuinely delicious. Of the two, we thought the gelato was better. The smoked cornhusk meringue was something I know I'm going to spend a lot of time thinking about. I'm really pleased we had a chance to try someplace so special, and if we ever make it back this way, I hope we get another chance to see what's on the menu. :)More infoBataPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown Tucson•4.7
