BARCOA Agaveria is a basement bar that celebrates the spirits of Mexico. Serving imaginative craft cocktails and a vast list of agave spirits, BARCOA is often described as "vibey," "sexy," and "the time of my life" (says some dude from Mesa). Agave spirits such as tequila, mezcal, bacanora, raicilla, and sotol, are the stars here, available as flights, neat pours, or however you like.Reservations are only available for the basement bar. Please reference the Basement Bar Menu. Above BARCOA, check out the Cantina, a casual back-alley mezcal and tequila bar that serves affordable classic cantina cocktails, and the cheery patio, which features Provecho taco truck. Pop out anytime during your visit and bring food down to the basement. BARCOA can be tricky to find. We're located on the southeast corner of 1st Avenue & Roosevelt, in the historic red brick building. Don't worry, you're not lost. It's just poor directional signage that the City refuses to fix.

I (John's wife) went in, not sure about the menu. I decided to change up my usual drink and got the Devine Feminine. EXCELLENT choice!! Then for dinner, we shared the potatoes and artichokes, very good, and I had the fish. It was ocean trout, which I'd never heard of, and it's similar to salmon, Again, excellent choice! My husband got the duck breast and was very happy with it. For dessert, we shared the S'mores Cake, yummy!! The ambiance of the place was wonderful. Loved our evening there!

We enjoyed lunch at Palma on a Thu afternoon. Our meal started with the guac and chips and the Beef Birria Rangoons. After we had the shrimp tacos and Tsunami Maki, both looked great and tasted even better. The Vibe Check is a bourbon based drink that was light for a midday cocktail. Service was great and both agreed we would be returning in the future. Would like to check it out in the evening when it is fully lit up.

The carne asada taco came with beans. I like my carne asada taco with only the meat no beans. The ceviche was tasty. The classic Bacanora margarita was good - I will have that again. The Lengua was out and that is what I wanted. The fish taco will have me go back in to enjoy. The loud ambience was fun, so a different restaurant if you want lower volume.
