- PPamVIPGreater Boston •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis was our first visit to Eastern Standard since it has re-opened in its new location. It's a large space that feels warm and welcoming. We were a party of six so we tried it all... salads, appetizers, mains, sides and desserts. The menu offers something for everyone, from a hamburger for our pickiest eater to braised lamb for the more sophisticated palette. We all loved our main courses (I had the roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly)..the bay scallop crudo app and macaroni and cheese side were especially noteworthy, as well as a decadent apple cider donut crisp. In addition to the great food, the service was outstanding! We will definitely be back!More infoEastern StandardPrice: Expensive• American• Fenway–Kenmore•4.5
- SSoniaGreater Boston •18 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoSat at the bar for brunch, served by an excellent bartender--a real craftsman--patient explaining the ingredients of the cocktails. Drinks and food was terrific. My only minor criticisms are that the seats at the bar essentially have no backs and are horribly uncomfortable. There is no reason chairs with backs can't be used. Secondly, they offered no black tea, only herbal. I'm not a coffee drinker, but needed that morning caffeine and no tea option was available. Again, no reason not to offer that, especially at brunch.More infoBar VlahaPrice: Moderate• Greek• Brookline•4.8
- JJeremieGreater Boston •26 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoAnother great meal at Abe & Louie’s, this time with the added experience of sitting upstairs for the first time. The atmosphere initially struck the perfect balance—comfortable and inviting for a special dining experience. Our waiter, Michael, was truly an experienced professional. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, embodying the type of service that elevates a meal from good to exceptional. Michael ensured everything was timed perfectly, from appetizers to dessert, and his expertise was evident throughout the evening. The food, as always, was impeccable—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Every dish met the high expectations we’ve come to associate with Abe & Louie’s, making it a truly memorable meal. However, during the second hour of our meal, the experience was marred by noise. Several parties spilled over from the bar into the dining space, creating an overly loud and chaotic environment that detracted from the otherwise refined atmosphere. It was unfortunate and something that could have been better managed by the restaurant. Overall, it was still a very good experience, thanks largely to Michael and the exceptional food. However, the noise issue highlights an area for improvement to ensure that the dining room ambiance remains as polished as the cuisine and service.More infoAbe & Louie’s - BostonPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Back Bay•4.7

- JJustineNew York City •7 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 23, 2024Impressed by this establishment. We wanted fine dining in Boston and we got it. I had the halibut and it was amazing. My husband had a steak, also amazing. My daughter and son were able to slit the heritage chicken and it was plenty. Sides are shareable. My husband’s brown sugar old fashioned was Pinterest worthy. I had an espresso martini x 2 with amazing taste and a frosted glass which kept it cold for the little time that it lasted. Ambiance is elegant. They were well decorated for Christmas. Coat check was a nice surprise. The service was impeccable. We will return.More infoGrill 23 & BarPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Back Bay•4.8
