Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

Opening R Wine Bar & Kitchen in 2018, and Vespa Catering and Brix Wine Bar in 2022, they have created a culture of hospitality for guests who feel like family. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests.     Maribella is our favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls. Service is excellent from the front door to our server. This time we enjoyed Risotto Di Mare and Bucatini Con Aragosta. The spice in the lemon sauce for the Bucatini was a little too spicy. Other than that our food was excellent. Wine selection is great; we enjoy the wines from the Barolo region. Definitely end your evening with an affogato!

    An amazing experience with incredible food! We were there on Christmas Eve and they were packed. Despite this the service was amazing and food was fantastic! The Filets were cooked perfectly!! I will always recommend CRAVE for any occasion!

    R Wine Bar never disappoints. We had a full day of shopping in Sioux Falls. Made 4:00 reservations a week before and requested a window seat, which are limited. We were received by very a very merry staff and were seated at my requested window seat. We ordered a bottle of wine we have never tried (spectacular) and of course off their December menu for supper. Oh my goodness it was amazing as everything on their menu is. We left happy and making plans to come back again. It is definitely our favorite restaurant and wine bar in a historic beautiful building. We were one of the first, waiting patiently for them to open several years ago, and we keep going back. Well done R Wine Bar..well done indeed!!
