Akahoshi Ramen is a humble ramen shop in the city of Chicago. Everything is made in the restaurant, including all soups, seasonings, toppings, and noodles. We are not an authentic ramen shop, though we value the history of ramen, and our ramen is influenced by its past and its future potential. The dish, popularized in Japan after World War 2, is symbolic of both struggle and perseverance. It is both a simple dish, and a fantastically complex one that we treat with reverence and respect. Roughly translating to “Red Star,” the name “Akahoshi” is a love letter to two cities; Sapporo, Hokkaido, where red stars adorn city monuments, and Chicago, Illinois, where the red star decorates the city flag.     My friend and I had a fantastic experience at Daisies last night! I moved to Logan Square about four months ago and this restaurant came highly recommended by so many. The ravioli and the rigatoni were absolutely divine! So wonderful to have this gem just a few blocks away. Highly recommend!

    We had a great experience at Akahoshi Ramen. Casper was wonderful and attentive! We sat at the counter and enjoyed sipping on our delicious cocktails as we watched the ramen being made! My husband enjoyed the midwestern ramen and I had the Akahoshi. It was SO delicious that my husband had a second round of ramen. HIGHLY recommend and cannot wait to visit here again. Until then, I’ll be dreaming about it.

    We’ve been hesitant to visit the Walnut Room due to food allergies but decided to give it a try. From the moment we sat down, Jesus, our waiter, was so attentive. He noticed our allergen card in the table and immediately addressed it, letting us know he find out anything we needed to know and would talk to the chef personally to see what our son could eat. We’ve always wanted to visit this beautiful restaurant but never did out of fear of allergies. But Jesus helped to make this experience amazing for our whole family. Thank you for taking the time to understand our allergies and walk us through the menu. It was a great start to the holiday season. We will be back again!
